Ray and Yosemite
Last spring we met at their home in the mountains, and it's hard for me to believe that I was supposed to meet him a few weeks ago but now will never be able to meet him again. RTM, you will be missed. This post is dedicated to his memory.

I was in Yosemite during the weekend. This was the first time in several trips that I missed out on meeting a Coyote, but we did get to see other interesting critters in the mammal department - a bear, lots of marmots, lots of deer, squirrels and an awesome pika! The bird department had their usual suspects in attendance but the quails and grouse were absconding. With the skies constantly switching between blue, white and gray it was as beautiful as the place can get. Yosemite during thunderstorms is just spectacular.

A young American Black Bear is looking for food. According to the ranger at the scene, this bear lost its mother last year when the mother was run over by a speeding car. It was rehabilitated and released into the wild.

Beautiful pics!

I should make to Yosemite once..that and Yellow-Stone are on top 5 of my list right now. :)

And it has plans for lunch...
And perhaps looking for a mate to eat with.. :) Cute pic!

Half-dome evening view looks so exotic...like something out of a fairy tale...

On second look reminds me of the mountain in Lord Of The Rings..LOL! :)

Oh i C..gotcha!

You are the kind of person like me and my SIL...always close the eyes when the flash goes...and drives my brother nuts when he is trying to pics of both of us...either of us close the eyes and it takes almost more than 4 times before he gets the right shot. :)

My dad is like that, too. I went through the old family photo albums when I was visiting my parents, last December, and I swear, there were perhaps two pictures total where my dad's eyes were entirely open!

Good me and SIL are not the only people with such experience.. :0

On that note, I checked my pics from last year's vacation to India, there were several were I closed my eyes. LOL! and I never really checked then to take them again.
