A rat snake decided to raid a squirrel's nest in my house this afternoon. It is a superb climber and was up on to a tall coconut tree, where the nest was, in no time. It was first sighted on the fence, quickly making it's way up and I ran upstairs to my room to get a better view, and I did. Managed some photographs with whatever lens was on the camera body - so these are what I'd call as documentation shots. Snakes in the city is gotta be a joke, right? ;)

Snake-Squirrel face off. The squirrel ran away to a safe distance and surprisingly didn't make any alarm calls!

The rat snake going down after seeing an empty nest. No squirrel for the snake today.

@1st pic
It does not even look as if one is a prey and the other a predator! They look like neighbours in harmony :D

Hope the squirrel is safe ;)

Yep, it's probably safe. If a squirrel sees a snake, there is no way for the snake to catch it since squirrels are much faster.

yeah and maybe they can jump around trees faster too !
