Yosemite wildlife  
Either wildlife is scarce in Yosemite or I was just having a bad day for animal sightings. A short seven mile hike resulted in a grand total of about twenty birds, a dead fish, a mountain Garter snake, lots of insects and some UV burns. We did see American black bear scat and Coyote pug marks, but no luck with the carnivores or any other mammal. Anyway, I was lucky enough to photograph a Coyote next to the road and also find a Blue Grouse in the parking lot!

Coyote. Was lucky to spot this guy. He stood there for a couple of seconds - brilliantly camouflaged and staring right at me. Thankfully, I had the right lens on my camera and was quickly able to get a decent photograph!

Blue Grouse. This one was so used to humans that it actually came and stood next to me (almost touching my jeans) for a moment.

ha ha, i am sending that last one to my brother. :-) roadrunner was always his favorite cartoon.
