Tiger in the pool
There's nothing better in the Indian forests than catching a glimpse of the rare and mysterious tiger.

That's a fairly big 8-feet bull elephant!

Heh! This one looks like the elephant is chasing the tiger away. Man you take these snaps like these animals are posing for you;-)

PS: Can I make a mention of your journal in my journal?

The elephant did try to chase away the tiger, but the tiger stood (rather sat) it's ground without the slightest concern in the world and the elephant backed up.

Can I make a mention of your journal in my journal?

No problem. :)

Yes, that elephant looks big enough this time ;-) A real live tiger sighting - I'm sure you know how rare that is. Have you considered travelling to the national parks up in North India? Corbett did write shoot his final tigers with a camera, you know :)

I'm still in Kenneth Anderson's world. :)

Maybe this winter I should try to travel up north.

The number of tiger sightings at Corbett National Park have gone up in the past few months due to some newborns.

While at Kanha, the safari vans have walkie-talkies to communicate. So the moment one party sees a tiger, the rest follow 'em.

Yep. It's the tigers breeding season, so most of them are on the move.

walkie-talkies to communicate

We have that here too, but tigers are very shy here and run away as soon as they spot us. :D

Nope
Nope, at Kanha the jeeps definitely do NOT have walkie talkies. Its banned because of the high probability of harassment of tigers when one jeep spots one and radios all the others.

Re: lovely!!!

I'd like to be more of a nature lover than a photographer.

It's usually peak summer - that's now! But the rains have been very good everywhere and the animals are all scatterred so you do not see the same amount of wildlife in Kabini which we did last year. Bandipur is my personal favourite, followed by BRT and then Kabini.

can I add you as my friend?
Sure. :)
