Bandipur Mornings
The mornings at Bandipur have always been beautiful - the fresh smell of the forest, the dew drops on the leaves, the ocassional cold wind and of course birds singing their morning songs. This time the forest was covered in mist and we could hardly see 20 feet from our jeep. To add to that the forest was strangely quiet and only an ocassional call of the cuckoos and the peacocks would disturb the peace. I really dont have many words to describe that wonderful morning. I wish there was a poet with me that day to capture the scene in words.

Here's a snap of a peacock resting on a tree that morning.

You might run into Copyright issues with that pic. Here's my pic of the bird taken about 6 months ago.

Amazing picture! Is it a really dense forest?
Yathinyathin on April 26th, 2005 03:45 pm (UTC)
not really dense like the rain forests. It's a dry decidious mostly and hence mostly scrub vegetation with not-so-tall trees.

Beautiful! Reminds me of colonial India somehow...
Yathinyathin on April 27th, 2005 02:08 am (UTC)
Bandipur and Nagarhole still have that colonial look since they are mostly comprised of teak plantations from the time of the British.

No Problem.

Rather than the pic, it's the beautiful morning that was so amazing. It was so unique. :D
