Green, brown and snow
I'm going off on my annual summer holiday starting this weekend. Last year it was the fabulous south west and this year it is going to be the North West. Most of the roads I intend to take are still under snow even with global warming and all. Route changes depending on ever-changing conditions are something that I'm used to and even my usual rough trip plan needs to get a bit rougher.

A multi-week trip means packing in a lot of clothes. Here's how I do it: Go to the closet and pick all things green and brown I see and dump it into the bag! It works. Now that I'm done with the clothing department, I need to get to the more important things like checking my camping gear, the sleeping bag, torches, headlamps, backpacks, books and cameras.

The best plan to have is to not have a plan. I'll know where all I would have traveled after I get back!

Re: Up to Seattle?
Yep, I am meeting up with a friend who's going to be traveling with me at Seattle. I will be in Seattle on Sunday night and star out to Montana on Monday morning. We wanted to do Rainier or Olympic, but looks like most of the roads in those parks are still under snow, so we decided to skip those two. I hope I can do Rainier and Olympic some time later this summer. Hopefully one of those extended weekends.

Apparently, Derek says, there was a time when Montana had NO daytime speed limits; they changed it because people started travelling to Montana specifically to abuse that right! Wouldn't you like to take the car there....

Er, now that all of us are changing diapers...Derek says, make sure the clothes are not green or brown for the wrong reasons! :)
