Water in the desert
It may be one of the hottest, driest places on the planet, but there are some places in the park which have water for a most of the year and even through the year. This is Darwin falls...

Kickass. The water comes from glaciers from sierra or something?

Btw, do you happen to know why the rocks move? The world of Science would be greatly indebted to you for the answers!

Man what an awesome trip you had :). Did any of the usual suspects get to accompany you on this trip?

On moving rocks, I'll give you my theory when you drive me to death valley :D. Why doesn't anyone fix a motion sensor to one of these 'moving' rocks? Maybe it has something to do with magnetics(would be interested to see if the magnetic properties of the rock change with temperature), or un-even ice formation/melting on different sides of the rock making it slippery.

Well, none of the usual suspects wanted to come...

Beautiful images dude ...
btw one thing
have you started using Polariser for your landscape shots ?? the blues are looking oversaturated. Also there seems to be a blue cast on the water bit of these photos also ( might be a WB issue here in this particular case )
Yathinyathin on February 25th, 2008 02:48 pm (UTC)
I don't use the polarizer, but I did notice the blues of the desert skies to be a little oversaturated. ;) Just search on flickr for Death Valley and notice that a lot of shots have that deep blue.

I don't usually play around too much with the colors, but I really can't see a blue cast. :(

The first one looks like a work of art!

It amazes me that water and waterlessness co exist so close to each other.
