Rabdentse, Sikkim
Rabdentse was the capital of Sikkim a long time ago. It's a really nice place which is about a kilometer walk from the busy highway. The trail is through some rather dense forest, which is why I even decided to take a look at this place, but I did get more than what I hoped for... :)

A male Rosefinch - I still can't believe that I went so close to this one!

I didn't want to, mainly because the water was so freakin' cold. :D

Nice. 'Nepal Fulvetta' looks very cute and plump. The Shrike has a very sharp curved beak, so does the sunbird. What do they use it for?

Love the serenity in the last picture. It's so peaceful.

> The Shrike has a very sharp curved beak, so does the sunbird. What do they use it for?

The shrike uses it's beak to tear up flesh and puncture insects. The sunbird uses it's long curved beak to suck nectar from flowers.

wonderful pics. You should consider using Noise Ninja or some similar tool. The first one is excellent.

PS: some dust spots on sensor? :)

I need to paint again!..x this is still one of my most favourite paintings of one of your photos and lots of people comment on this one in particular. http://www.tracieart.com/borntofly.html

One guy wrote to me and said "born to fly, you could write a whole book about that picture, in fact several books, i bet if you asked 1000 people to write a story based on that picture you'd get 1000 different stories."

You're inspire a lot of people, don't ever forget that :D

much love,
tracie..xxx

Wow! That's an awesome painting. I think that image looks much better as a painting than a photograph! :)

Oh, I don't know Yathin, I just *adore* the photo! The photo lets me see through your very own eyes and the fact that your eyes could have seen such incredible images just has me in awe :D There are others of yours that I've painted on there, too :D I just love them!..xxx

Thank you for being you..x

much love,
